PRIVACY POLICY

EFFECTIVE DATE: APRIL 15, 2026

We do not collect, store, or share personal data for tracking purposes or with third parties. Data collected is used exclusively for anonymous analytics to improve the app experience.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

KinMed is designed to collect as little information as possible. We collect only what is strictly necessary to operate the service.

Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from those providers. If you use guest access (anonymous sign-in), no personal identifiers are collected.

Medication data: Medication names, dosages, schedules, and dose confirmation logs that you enter in the app. This data is stored in your family circle and shared only with the caregivers you explicitly invite.

Device information: Anonymous device identifiers, operating system version, and app version, collected automatically by Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose technical issues.

Usage data: Anonymous, aggregated analytics events (e.g., feature usage counts, session duration) collected via Firebase Analytics. These events contain no personally identifiable information.

2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use the information we collect exclusively to:

  • Provide and maintain the KinMed service — authenticating users, syncing medication data across your care circle, and sending dose reminders.
  • Diagnose and fix technical issues via crash reports from Firebase Crashlytics.
  • Improve the app experience through anonymous, aggregated analytics.
  • Respond to support requests when you contact us directly.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, sell access to your data, or target you with third-party marketing.

3. ANALYTICS

KinMed uses Firebase Analytics (provided by Google) to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This helps us understand which features are most useful and how to improve the app.

Analytics events are anonymous. They do not contain your name, email, medication names, or any personally identifiable information. Examples of events collected include: app session started, screen viewed, and feature interaction counts.

Firebase Analytics may associate analytics data with an anonymous device identifier, but KinMed does not link this identifier to your personal account information.

For more information on how Firebase handles data, see Firebase Privacy and Security.

4. THIRD-PARTY SHARING

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

  • Service providers: Google Firebase (cloud infrastructure, authentication, analytics, crash reporting). Firebase processes data on our behalf under Google's data processing terms.
  • Care circle members: Medication data and dose logs are visible to the caregivers you explicitly invite into your family circle. You control who has access.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

5. DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Firebase data centers are located in the United States.

KinMed also stores some data locally on your device using Hive, an encrypted local key-value store, to support offline functionality. This data never leaves your device except when syncing with your family circle via Firebase.

We implement security best practices including role-based access controls within family circles (Admin, Editor, Viewer) to limit data access to authorized caregivers only.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable security measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at main@luisribeiro.tech.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

KinMed is designed to help families manage medications for children and other dependents, but the app itself is intended for use by adults (caregivers aged 13 and over in accordance with our Terms of Use).

KinMed does not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Medication data entered about a child (e.g., a child's name or medication schedule) is entered by an adult caregiver and is governed by this Privacy Policy.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information directly through our service, please contact us at main@luisribeiro.tech and we will take steps to remove that information.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users via in-app notification or email.

Your continued use of KinMed after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
